Easy Christmas Salmon Recipes

Salmon: The CookbookThis is really easy and requires only 3 ingredients.

1 packet of puff pastry

1 pack of 250g (9oz) smoked salmon trimmings or slices

8 spring onions finely chopped.

Roll out the pastry and cut into 2 pieces to make it easier to work with. Place the smoked salmon all over the pastry and sprinkle with the chopped spring onions. Sprinkle with fresh ground black pepper. Starting from the long side roll up like a swiss roll. Using a sharp knife cut the rolls into fairly thin rounds of about 1/4" thick. Place onto greased baking trays and bake in a hot oven (200C) for around 15 - 20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown. Transfer to a wire rack to cool before serving. They are also good for freezing, just thaw for around 3 hours. They'll also keep for about 1 week in an airtight container. This recipe is from Mary Berry At Home

Omega 3 and Alzheimers

In the News

Omega 3 and Alzheimers

A diet that is balanced and full of antioxidants is the best way to boost the immune system which in turn helps to ward off Alzheimers and cleanse potentially harmful plaques that could be building up in your brain.

Essential Fatty Acids are the number one immune system builder and Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids are necessary to promote optimal health. A fish oil supplement is the best source of fatty acids since most modern-day diets don't normally contain enough fish to provide these nutrients.

I give my 8yr old twins 1 capsule of MorEHA Junior capsules twice a day, it doesn't taste at all fishy and because it's a softgel capsule it goes down rather easier than the normal tablets - don't you just hate it when tablets start disolving in your mouth before you've swallowed them?

Shoppers Confused by the Supermarkets

As usual, the supermarkets are jumping on the bandwagon selling 'fortified' foods. Well you can't always believe everything the supermarkets tell you and here's a classic case in point. full story

If you're thinking about taking an Omega 3 supplement Great Salmon Recipes has recommended 2 sites that sell a high grade fish oil.
